New LG OLED TVs Available at Parker Gwen

share

LG has launched several new lines of OLED TVs, and we have them available here at Parker Gwen. So we thought we should explain why they're the next big thing in home theater.

What is OLED?

OLED stands for "organic light-emitting diode." If you've ever seen an LED light, you know they're very bright, smaller than traditional incandescent lights, and use a lot less energy to produce a lot more light. An OLED uses a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current.

LED TVs gave us the chance to replace the large, heavy tube TVs and gave us flat TVs. As the technology improved and LED came onto the scene, we got high-definition TVs, 4K, and then 8K TVs, each iteration brighter and more vivid than the version before it.

OLED TVs work without a backlight, because they emit their own visible light. This means they have deeper black levels, which helps other colors become more vivid and realistic. It also makes them thinner and lighter than even the early flat-panel LCD TVs. And because OLED displays are thinner and even flexible, they're being incorporated into smartphones that use fingerprint scanners or foldable smartphones.

What features do LG's New OLED TVs Have?

The new LG OLED TVs have ThinQ AI which means they have Google Assistant and Alexa built-in. So if you don't have either of the devices, you can use your LG TV instead. Just ask Alexa to turn on your favorite streaming service, or ask Google to turn off your smart lights, all without an extra device. Your TV becomes your smart home operational hub.

All models have webOS, which means you can do some basic web surfing, or download your favorite TV apps like Hulu, Netflix, and AcornTV. They even have a sports alert capability, telling you when a game is about to start. Plus, LG has over 180 of its own channels, which can offer you different programming, from movies and TV, news, sports, comedy, music, and more.

If you're a gamer, all LG OLED TVs work seamlessly with NVIDIA G-SYNC, which gives you more intense colors and a perfect black level, taking advantage of NVIDIA's smoother gameplay. The HDMI speeds are also much faster, which means higher frame rates for gaming, giving you faster response rate, lower latency mode, and less input lag. That means a response time of > 1 ms.

Finally, all three models are Wisa (wireless speaker and audio) capable, although they need a separate dongle to connect to your Wisa devices. This means you can use wireless audio all around the room, putting speakers in hard-to-reach places and avoiding unsightly cables all over the floor and walls.

The GX Series (not CX) is available in 77", 65", and 55".  The GX series is also known as the Gallery Series. It was designed with a thin frame that can mount perfectly flush to the wall.
