We’ll admit it.
The moment that the holiday decorations come down, and we’re left with what *seems* like an empty home, cold weather, and far too many days until summer sun returns, it can feel a bit…daunting.
But, you don’t have to go catching the winter blues just yet. While the twinkling lights, holiday spirit, and cozy Christmas days might feel like they’re long - there’s still plenty of time to cozy up your home to enjoy the winter season.
After all, when you can’t spend a ton of time outside, the best way to make the most of your time is to cozy up inside - don’t you think?
Keep on reading for a few of our favorite tips for decorating your space for the Winter season.
GO LUXE WITH THICK FABRICS
There’s nothing that’s quite as cozy as a thick, warm blanket on a snowy day. Or, a rich velvet lined chair to curl up and read a book in.
When we think of winter decorating, the first thing we look for is fabrics with tons of texture and a heavy weight to keep us nice and warm. If you’re looking for a few simple accents, try starting with a faux fur pillow or blanket, a velvet ottoman or pouf (like the Augustine), or, grab a textured, heavy knit to curl up with next to the fire.
LEAN INTO RICH COLORS
Grey skies outside have you down? Add some color back to your life with the addition of deep, bold hues into your home.
On our must-have list currently? Auburns, burgundies, coppers, and rust colors. If you’re looking for a few favorite warmth-inspired furniture pieces to get you started try:
MAKE IT A FIREPLACE MOMENT
Just because there are no longer stockings hung by the fireplace, doesn’t mean it can’t take center stage in your home. Let the fireplace have it’s moment, as you’re sure to be spending quite a few nights cozied up by it with care.
We recommend starting a fireplace you love, like our customer-favorite Sideline Elite Lineup. Have a traditional fireplace you love? Spruce it up with a new fireplace screen to give it some more life. Once your fireplace is complete, decorate your mantel with candlesticks, vases with dried florals, and more to complete the look.
